The use of unadvertised hotel resort fees has become a common practice. Hotels advertise a certain rate over the phone or online and when you get the bill you get charged extra money to use these services that one would assume are included in the base price they are advertising. Many times they don't tell you what these services actually are, they are a grey area that includes things such as the increased cost of utilities or other items.
Hotels should charge what they advertise and specifically list any extras they offer and what they cost and allow the consumer to request these services at which time the charges are added onto their bill.
Advertising one rate and charging another is a deceptive and dishonest practice that should be eliminated.
