Beauty pageants should be illegal for children under 16. They promote child abuse and can psychologically damage young girls for life. Child pageants promote hyper-sexualization of children as young as two. They beat into the minds of extremely young girls that attention and beauty are the some of the most coveted assets one can attain. Child pageants are nothing more than a sophisticated form of child abuse for the disgusting entertainment of pedophiles and are not something that should be condoned by American society. France and Russia have already banned them, so should we.
