Children, without ability to defend themselves, are forced or coerced by their parents or guardians to participate in beauty pageants. Children are sexualized, abused, and robbed of their childhoods because of the self-interests of their parents or guardians. Rather than enjoying childhood, children are forced to compete for direct or indirect monetary awards. This is tantamount to child labor under the guise of voluntary, beauty and talent competition. Children are introduced into this lifestyle to please the personal monetary or psychological desires of their parents or guardians. This blatant child exploitation must end now.
