Child beauty pageants have negative effects on impressionable young girls by their parents (mostly mothers). These pageants promote child abuse, exploitation, and pedophilia. Proof of these allegations can be seen on TV programs such as Toddlers and Tiaras where mothers force their daughters into these pageants often with verbal/physical abuse or bribes. In some cases, like the case of JonBenét Patricia Ramsey, pedophilia and other serious crimes have resulted in continued participation of child pageants.
