The civil asset forfeiture program allows law enforcement to commandeer personal property without any due process. We ask the President to issue an executive order banning this practice from all law enforcement agencies and departments in the country on the authority of the constitution and presidency.
This is a violation of the constitution's 4th amendment guarantee against unreasonable search and seizure.
This is a violation of the constitution's 5th amendment guarantee of due process.
The executive order would be a lawful order in compliance with the constitution. This order would affect the executive branch of government and would fall under the authority of the President of the United States.
Therefore, this order would stand up against a challenge in any court.
