As it stands, there is no protection for the people from harassing, unsolicited calls from untraceable numbers. There should be a system in place to require all phone numbers to be 'owned' by an entity before they can be used, and if sent via the internet, the IP address should be recorded as accurately as possible. These entities must be held accountable one way or another.
1. No feedback from donotcall.gov on the status of a complaint.
2. Unsolicited phone calls still occur, even on cell phones which are supposed to already be protected from such communications.
3. The numbers that show up on the recipient's caller ID are fictitious. If the recipient attempts to call back, they get a message that the number is not a valid working number, or they get a busy signal.
