The continued use of the Confederate flag is an abomination. We've unfortunately witnessed many recent events involving race from policing to extremism. As a country, we need to pick a symbol of the past and retire it forever.
We should no longer worship the Confederate flag. We should no longer honor the generals of past with named roads. Black and white and everyone else drive those avenues. We need to move to the present (and prepare for the future) by renaming those roads for some our recent fallen citizens.
Lets honor those who have recently lost their lives and prepare a new future by eliminating symbols and names of our sorrowed past. We begin by retiring (banning) the continued use of the Confederate flag.
Lets start the future with a new vision.
