Ban conversion, ex-gay and ex-transgender therapy

Created by R.G. on December 30, 2014

Conversion therapy, often called ex-gay or reparative therapy, is a hate-motivated attempt by a therapist to "correct" a person's sexuality or gender identity. Conversion therapy has been widely denounced by the APA and other psychology, scientific and human rights groups. This type of therapy causes lasting emotional harm and is not based in sound science. There is nothing wrong with being LGBT. A ban on conversion therapy will help reduce the rates of depression and suicide in these marginalized communities.
