Ban Conversion Therapy Nationally!

Each day gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and gender nonconforming youth end their lives to suicide rather than endure harassment, violence, and social pressures to conceal or change their identities. While the American Psychological Association clearly opposes conversion therapy, many state legislators still believe that parents should maintain the choice of "reparative therapy" for their children. At this time California, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia are the only jurisdictions that have outlawed conversion therapy. Despite best efforts, state legislatures have not been successful at banning conversion therapy. We cannot wait for states to take action while our children suffer. We call on you, President Obama, ban the use of conversion therapy nationally.
