Ban convicted child sex offenders from burial eligibility at VA National Cemeteries and Arlington National Cemetery.

Created by A.J. on November 07, 2014

There are no laws currently holding back many child sex offenders from receiving an honorable burial at any one of our nation's 131 national VA cemeteries.

Under 38 U.S.C. § 2411, interment or memorialization in a VA national cemetery or in Arlington National Cemetery is prohibited if a person is convicted of a Tier III sex offense, who was sentenced to a minimum of life imprisonment and whose conviction is final.

Many child sexual offenders in the United States get off with reduced sentences through plea bargaining, which deems the current law's enforcement useless against many convicted child sex offenders.

The sexual offense towards a child from a United States Veteran should be intolerable and deemed ineligible for burial at a national cemetery no matter their sentence.
