Women impregnated as a result of rape have to face a great deal of turmoil after the fact and have to make one of the biggest decisions they will ever have to make: to keep or to abort the baby.
Some women choose to see the pregnancy through, which is a brave and often times difficult on the victim and their families, in addition to coping with the mental and physical trauma of the rape.
One example is that of a 14-year-old girl in Boston who now has to potentially share parental rights with her 20-year-old attacker.
I urge the legislators of this nation to analyze what possible benefits this sort of court appointed justice has on the victims and their children who, at the order of the court, get to go through life knowing under which conditions they were conceived.
