Corexit is a highly toxic chemical used to solidify oil and according to the EPA is was only 54.7% effective in the Louisiana BP oil spill clean up. This chemical is a carcinogen, and has shown to cause liver damage, skim lesion and even death.
There are plenty of alternatives however oil companies continue to say that a song as the government allows them to use corexit they will continue to do so.
Congress needs to ban its use.
