Ban Corporal Punishment in American Schools

Created by R.R. on April 18, 2016

If it is illegal for adults to hit each other, why is it okay for them to hit someone else's child? Nineteen states still allow corporal punishment in schools, despite overwhelming evidence that it does more harm than good. Spanking can cause permanent damage to a child's mind and body, even if it is unintentional. School districts should never be allowed to put children in this kind of danger, and those who do should lose all federal funding and be placed on judicial supervision until the practice is ceased and faculty who refuse to stop are punished accordingly.
