We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Ban COSMETIC SURGERIES: They cause more HARM than help.

Created by R.H. on November 28, 2016

1 in 13,000 cosmetic surgeries end in fatality. Cosmetic surgeries do not promote health and instead are used solely for aesthetic purposes. Surgeries such as breast augmentations, cosmetic rhinoplasty, the use of Botox for cosmetic reasons, and other non-medicinal related surgeries should be banned. These surgeries do not follow the Hippocratic Oath as they often cause harm as opposed to cures and treatments. The advertisements and ideals behind these surgeries promote the unrealistic body proportions proposed to women and men which in turn also cause mental trauma; including women self-objectifying and habitually body monitoring. These heighten the risks of depression, self esteem issues, and eating disorders. Cosmetic surgeries poison the mind and body.
