In response to the "momentum" to expand the DH rule to both leagues, the purpose of this petition is to preserve national league baseball.
The argument for the DH is to protect the health of pitchers. Garret Richards was injured in 2014 while covering first base; should we not let pitchers do that anymore either? More pitchers get hurt by come-backers than get injured hitting, but we don't leave the batting practice screen in front of the mound the whole game. And by far, the highest risk of injury for pitchers, comes from pitching. Anyone want to go to a pitching machine?
After using its antitrust exemption to kill competition, MLB would now like to kill the game in its purest form without being held accountable for its actions. This "business" decision should forfeit that exemption.
