The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) asks the question "Have you been convicted for the possession or sale of illegal drugs for an offense that occurred while you were receiving federal student aid?" If you answer "yes" to the question, then you will be asked an additional series of questions to see if you qualify for financial aid which includes student loans, grants, and work study. What happens to those that have been convicted of this offense that want to turn their lives around and go to college? This is a biased question, that is directed towards minorities in an effort to deter them from achieving higher education. Why is a conviction of child molestation not asked? Or just a question of a felony conviction in general?
