The FDA currently allows 8 chemical food additives that are proven to cause cancer in animals by the National Institutes of Health & the WHO.
The NRDC, Center for Environmental Health, Environmental Working Group, and a group of other agencies, have filed a closed petition asking the FDA to do what is legally their job, and ban these chemicals in food. We would like to create a petition here to show our strong endorsement.
The chemicals to ban are:
-Benzophenone (AKA diphenylketone)
-Ethyl acrylate
-Eugenyl methyl ether (AKA 4-allylveratrole or methyl eugenol)
-Myrcene (AKA 7-methyl-3-methylene-1, 6-octadiene)
-Pulegone
-Pyridine
-Styrene
-Trans, trans-2, 4-hexadienal
Tell the Obama Administration to tell the FDA to stop allowing carcinogens in our food.
