Emo lifestyle is one of the smaller forces that are crippling our society. It is a trend that encourages self-harm, drug use, eating disorders and far far worse. For example, the lyrics for "Knives and Pens" by Black Veil Brides include "Lay your heart down, the end's in sight.

Is this what we want our children listening to? Experiencing middle school, I have met people who follow this culture who have committed self harm, likely because of the band idols they listen to. This self harm desensitizes them, which may lead to violent behavior in their future.
