Ban employers from forcing employees to get paid using fee-ridden prepaid debit cards.

Created by K.C. on July 01, 2013

There is a growing trend in which employers are no longer offering paper checks or direct deposit to their employees. Instead, they're issuing prepaid debit cards that are packed with hidden fees.

Some common examples:

*Fee for ATM withdrawal.
*Fee for wire transfer.
*Fee for transaction.
*Fee for non-usage.

It is impossible to access your funds without paying exhorbitant fees. This is particularly devastating for poor families who are already surviving on minimum wage. These fees essentially amount to a bank-imposed tax on the poorest Americans

Employers, meanwhile, are paid by the banks for each employee they issue one of these cards to. Walmart, Walgreens, and other large retailers are engaging in this practice. Please put a stop to it!
