Containers that are made of expanded polystyrene are detrimental to the world. Numerous organisms are being affected. This material is commonly used by restaurants to store our food. The biggest problem is that we are using these containers for a while, and they are ending up in our bodies of water for a long time as one of the greatest polluting factors. To top it off, Frazier states, "The EPA and the International Agency for Research on Cancer have established styrene as a possible human carcinogen." This means that this substance is considered a possible cause of cancer for humans. Other cities, such as San Francisco, have already set this ban in place without suffering a noticeable amount of profit loss, so the rest of the country has nothing to lose.
