Foie gras is the engorged liver of a duck or goose to 600% its natural size. It is achieved by force-feeding the animal, known as "gavage", via a metal tube that pumps food into its gullet. Birds suffer from many ailments, including puncture wounds, asphyxiation, and some even burst.
In America, it is legal to have foie gras imported to cook and sell, but not to produce it. We need to act to get this inhumane practice banned with the federal government, including production of, importing, cooking with, selling, and even giving it away.
Foie gras also may trigger amyloidosis to those who eat it, which can lead to Alzheimer’s, Type 2 Diabetes, and more in humans.
I implore you to take action against those who buy, make, and eat unhealthy animal organs by signing and sharing this.
