Ban the following non-see through items in public schools: duffel bags, backpacks, guitar cases and similar.

Created by T.B. on June 25, 2014

In an effort to increase student, teacher and public safety within schools, it is recommended that school policies be changed to reflect a standardized policy of ONLY see-through carrying bags (e.g. guitar cases, backpacks, duffel bags, equipment bags and similar) allowed on campuses. This will allow students to carry necessary learning tools to school with the ease of bus drivers, school administration and security officials to easily identify items contained within. Past school shootings have shown that large bags, guitar cases and other non-see through bags are easy to conceal weapons, explosives, flack vests and ammunition. An alternate policy could be to ban any large carrying bags larger than a standard backpack.
