Dear Mr. President,
We are greatly disturbed by the U.S. Forest Service's recent decision not ban, in the GW National Forest, the oil and gas extraction process known as fracking. Numerous studies have shown the detrimental impact of fracking to people's health and water supplies, as well as a number of other environmental hazards.
The preservation of our National Park lands, water supplies, and the health of our citizens should be of upmost importance, not only for current generations, but for many generations to come. Such concerns dwarf any economic or societal benefits we may stand to gain from even the most limited of fracking on public land.
We ask that you follow in the footsteps of past Presidents such as Roosevelt and Nixon, and work to preserve our precious resources.
