Ban hydraulic fracturing “fracking” in the U.S.
Fracking is the process of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at a high pressure in order to fracture shale rocks to release natural gas inside.
Fracking uses chemicals to eat through rocks to get the oil. The chemicals are a trade secret and there is no way of knowing exactly what chemicals are being used, but we do know it goes into the water. Not to mention the significant increase in earthquakes in areas where fracking has taken place. It is not worth the wasted water and destroyed environment for the oil that is obtained.
