Fur farming is the practice of raising furbearing animals- most commonly foxes, minks, chinchillas, lynxes, and even hamsters, dogs, and cats- and purposely killing them and skinning them to make fur clothing.
Naturally, minks must be in open spaces; they can occupy over 2000 acres. At farms, they are kept in small cages, in which they can barely take a step forwards and backwards, which drives them insane. They begin to self-mutilate: scratching and biting at their feet, tails, and skin.
The most common slaughter methods are gassing (sometimes with exhaust fumes), poisoning, neck-breaking, and electrocution- where metal rods are forced into their mouths and anuses and exposed to electricity. Some are even skinned alive.
Fur farming is an unnecesary practice and should be illegalized.
