According to Peter Wadhams, a professor of ocean physics at the University of Cambridge, the Arctic Ocean could be completely free of ice in summer as soon as 2015. This not only negatively affects wildlife in the area, but also those who live there (about 4 million people) and sea level and temperature changes; sea levels and temperatures will rise and those who live in the Arctic will have a harder time making their living and finding food to eat. Already endangered animals will also be at risk of going extinct. In order to stop this happening, we must act now and ban further development of oil and gas in this sensitive location.
