Goldfish bowls are very cruel and inhumane. Goldfish reach a maximum size of 24" and a standard side of 18" if kept in a pond. Goldfish so not grow to the size of the container. They stunt. That means there internal organs keep growing when their scales stop. It is very painful to the fish. The fish also need oxygen not just water. There needs to be oxygen in the water or the fish will suffocate. Goldfish are also very messy fish. They poop a lot. That gives them chemical burns. The oldest goldfish lived to be 45 years old and the average lifespan of a goldfish living in a pond is over 20 years. Bowls essentially torture goldfish.
