Hydraulic Fracturing is a perverted process for drilling Natural Gas. Each well drilled requires millions of gallons of clean water to be mixed with over 750 chemicals to act as acids, biocides, and friction reducers. Some such chemicals are hydrochloric acid, propargyl alcohol, naphthalene, ammonium chloride, methyl-ethyl derivatives, and so on. All carcinogens. These chemicals are then mixed with the clean water, pumped into the ground, and exploded 1000 feet underground, allowing the gas to leak out. The problem with this, is that the 'processed water' seeps into the aquifers and contaminates the drinking water that millions of people depend on. This practice has been banned in other countries for its volatility. We can all agree energy is nice, but water is essential to live.
