Ban Hydraulic Fracturing(fracking) on public lands/.5 miles of housing, & require sensors to prevent chem. & gas leaks.

Created by D.E. on August 22, 2013

Fracking should not be allowed on public lands because it pollutes, for profit, land that belongs to the People of the USA.

Hydraulic Fracturing is the process of injecting large amounts of water and chemicals in to the Earth in order to fracture the ground. This releases gases and energy when the Earth shifts. Many studies have shown that fracking is extremely harmful to the environment especially in regards to water usage and runoff pollution by the chemical waste used in the process. There needs to be a mandate for sensors to inform the fracking companies of any leaks.

Currently very little is being done to regulate fracking and this would be a good 1st step. Our water is already a very precious resource and it grows less available day by day.
