Hydrolic Fracturing, also known as fracking, is the process of drilling deep into the ground and blasting toxic chemicals into the rock to release natural gas. The chemicals used are known carcinogens that cause all kinds of diseases from cancer to neurological conditions. This procedure uses 8 million gallons of fresh water each time a well is fracked. It also releases methane into existing wells, destroying the water's safety. People affected are able to light their tap water on fire. Gas companies will not take responsibility for poisoning wells and refuse to let up. It is time that government protects the people and not the gas companies.
