Ban the Import of Angora From Countries Without Animal Anti-Cruelty Laws

Created by C.M. on December 16, 2013

Ban the American import of angora rabbit fur and angora products from countries without animal anti-cruelty laws.

Angora rabbits are overtly tortured and killed every day in China in order to remove more of their fur more cheaply. Companies which sell angora products and consumers who buy angora products often believed they were buying angora fur which was gently harvested using any number of cruelty-free methods.

These cruelty-free methods are used by a small number of American breeders, who cannot compete with the low prices of foreign companies who use these cruel practices. For the sake of local ethical breeders, and for the sake of these inhumanly-treated animals, institute a ban on these imports until such time as these countries pass and adequately enforce such laws.
