Utilizing gas chambers is not a solution to address pet overpopulation in America. It's not euthanasia. Euthanasia translates to ‘good death’. To be considered humane,it should be painless, achieve rapid unconsciousness/death, minimize animal fear/distress & be reliable/irreversible. IV euthanasia utilize Barbiturates producing cardiac/respiratory arrest. It's cheap, produces a rapid loss of consciousness, & quickly progresses to death without pain or discomfort. Rather than providing a quick &painless death, gas chambers subject animals to carbon monoxide inhalation. Animals painfully suffocate to death. Distress is an understatement. The event produces confusion, fear, desperation, agonizing cries of terror,& can take up to 30 mins for the animal to die. Please end their inhumane torture.
