Ban junk debt buyers & debt collectors from suing consumers over debts and stop the buying and selling of consumer debt.

Over the last few years, junk debt buying and debt collection industries have grown exponentially, buying and selling old consumer debts for pennies on the dollar and collecting on those debts. And the abuse has grown at the same rate. Lawsuits that clog the court systems, are often times based on inaccurate and incomplete information, and lawsuits that people just can't defend themselves against. Companies like Portfolio Recovery Associates target and harass consumers relentlessly and bring suit on a daily basis against defenseless consumers. We ask the government to finally put an end to this industry, taking away the standing of debt collectors and junk debt buyers to bring suits against consumers and ban original creditors from selling their debt to junk debt buyers.
