Ban the Keystone Pipeline This pipeline only benefits a Canadian oil company not American people or the economy.

The Congress seems intent on the American government spending billions of dollars on a pipeline. The primary purpose of this pipeline is NOT to benefit the American economy but to provide Canada with a means of transporting its oil to the Gulf of Mexico. We have learned, with the Alaskan pipeline, the amount of maintenance required to keep the pipeline working. We have also discovered the ecological damage that can be caused by a leak in the pipeline. Why should American taxpayers pay for a pipeline that will generate relatively few jobs, be an eyesore to our landscape, and potentially damage our environment. Let Canada take care of its own problems.
