This purpose of this petition is simple. Ban elected officials from receiving financial incentives to vote on legislation in such ways that do not represent their constituants needs. The ability to lobby by the few with deep pockets completely skews the concentration of power from the many to the few. This goes against the principal of democracy and the principals on which this country was built upon.
The US used to be a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people, but over the course of years has lost its way by instituting policies and laws that allow the concentration of power to be directly tied to the amount the amount of cash a corporation allocates to it's political agenda. We can be the great nation we once were, and this is the first step.
