ban the manufacture and sale of assault style weapons for purposes other than law enforcement or military use.

Created by V.L. on November 18, 2012

The 2nd amendment has been an excuse for organizations to promote the sale and use of all types of weapons. However, the 2nd amendment does not prohibit restrictions on the styles and types of weapons that can be used. Assault weapons are designed for war and other lethal application of force against people. There is no practical reason that any person needs to own assault weapons. The right to self defense by firearms can be easily maintained by traditional revolvers and shotguns. The American people have seen an increase in violence by assault weapons, and this increase is directly related to their easy availability.
