One weapon that is used in hundreds of violent crimes ask across the country every year is the baseball bat. These assault weapons serve no legitimate hunting purpose and do not enjoy the same constitutional protection that firearms do.
Therefore, we respectfully ask the administration to introduce legislation that will make illegal the manufacture, sale, and transfer of that sinister, violent weapon known as the baseball bat. This bill should also institute a mandatory government buyback of all baseball bats currently spread throughout the country. I'm sure Senator Feinstein will sponsor it.
And if your response to this is that it is ridiculous and criminals will just use a different weapon, then why doesn't that logic work on firearms?
