Ban media outlets from publicly releasing the name(s) of killers involved in mass shootings.

Created by O.N. on December 16, 2012

It has become apparent that the media's inherent glorification of mass shooters only perpetuates the problem. When disturbed individuals see the recognition, and indeed media fueled glory of those who commit atrocious crimes, it shows them that public attention will ensue should they commit a similar atrocity. This needs to end. If shooters cannot be publicly recognized for their crimes than no-one will remember them. They will get no glory, no recognition and will not inspire others. It's time we stopped giving so much attention to the killers and started giving more attention to the victims and their families so that people will understand the very real horror of these crimes.
