ban media reporting of murderers' names to reduce copy cat killings.

Created by C.B. on January 08, 2013

Society is a victim of the media's reporting of murder. We have seen a substantial increase in mass murders in the last 15 years in America because of copycats. Our media incessantly reports the name, photo, and life story of these killers. People, often young but not always, see this and believe this is a viable option, to go out in a famed blaze of glory. If we stop giving these killers such fame we could reduce the number of copycats.

If we do not act now, we are sure to see the number of such killings increase. The Second Amendment right to bear arms was never meant to put the general public in harm's way. We need not let it continue while we have a debate over gun control. We can resolve some of these copycats by institutiing this restriction.
