Ban modifications such as Slide Fire which effectively convert a semi-automatic rifle into an accurate automatic one.

There is a method of firing a semi-automatic rifle called "bump firing" in which a person holds their trigger finger still and moves the gun back and forth to fire. It allows the user to fire much more rapidly than otherwise possible, but with a great loss of accuracy. Rifle modifications such as "Slide Fire" allow the user to accurately aim their weapon while firing as fast as an automatic weapon. These modifications are even more dangerous than fully automatic weapons because by absorbing the recoil they allow for significantly more accurate fire. These modifications exploit a loophole in firearm regulations that require a modification to have "automatically functioning mechanical parts or springs" or "perform an automatic mechanical function when installed" in order to be illegal.
