The N word was used by caucasian's in the 1940's and 50's to show african american individuals that they were inferior to them. Now the N word is constantly used by teens who don't even know the origins of the word. At my school I hear many things but what shocks me is that other racial groups that weren't even in the african american conflicts of the 1940's and 50's use that word. Some may defend that switching the "er" with a "a" makes it okay. It's not, replacing those letters with the slang term is lazy english. You don't see people of different races call their peers the countless names and insults given to them. The N word means inferior, lower then insects, worthless, and black. Why should it be acceptable in our modern society?
