In terms of the Metal genre, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has routinely shown either a complete lack of knowledge of the genre, or a blatant disrespect to its artists and followers by choosing recipients for the award of Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance that poorly represent said genre. It is because of this that we petition for the category be removed from their ceremonies, as well as any other category involving the Metal genre, from this point forward. The Metal community respectfully declines involvement in the annual Grammy Award ceremonies, choosing to better honor the accomplishments of its artists from within.
