By making it illegal for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and other gun advocacy organizations to contribute to political campaigns (and to political causes in general), we will eliminate the influence of these lobby groups. We could then focus on implementing more effective gun control legislation while protecting Second Amendment rights. These organizations are only concerned with increasing their bottom lines, and public safety is clearly not one of their priorities. Hypocrites like Wayne LaPierre, who blames violent video games for the surge in mass shootings while the NRA releases its own shooting game, should have no say in our country's legislative process.
