Ban neonicotinoid pesticides that are killing bees on a massive scale.

Created by G.V. on January 27, 2013

In recent years, bee colonies are collapsing at very high rates.

This is a major issue for our food security because without bees there is no pollination and therefore no production of fruits, nuts, grains and seeds.

The increased rate of bee colony collapse coincided with the introduction of a new class of pesticides: neonicotinoids. Scientific evidence is mounting that these "neonics" are an important man made contributor to the collapse of bee colonies. See for instance http://www.sciencemag.org/content/336/6079/351

Dear President, protect our food production by banning neonicotinoids!
