ban or limit homework in public schools at all levels. Too much creates stress and prevents kids from being active.

Created by D.H. on June 05, 2014

To limit or ban homework in public schools. Too much homework does not benefit kids at all. Spending two or more hours each evening doing homework does not lead to better learning. It creates burnout and frustration. It creates stress for both the kids and the parents trying to help them. Stressed out kids and parents is not conducive to learning. Also, too much time each evening, during the school year, doing homework keeps kids from being able to get outside and play and be kids. We have an epidemic in this country of overweight under-active kids. We need to free up kids time for them to be what they are-kids. School work should be done at school during the school day. After school should be for after school activities, sports, band, choir, theater and of course family time.
