ban ownership of semi-automatic weapon and ownership of high capacity magazines, including buy back if necessary

We petition the White House to encourage Congress not only to ban assault weapons, but all semi-automatic weapons, including semi-automatic hand guns. In addition, we encourage the White House and congress to ban high capacity ammunition. Beyond reinstating the Clinton ban that expired in 2004, we ask that the government ban possession of semi-automatic weapons, instituting a buy back program or other incentive if need be. Given the increased sales of semi-automatic weapons and high capacity ammunition in the wake of new talks on gun bans, we do not believe that only banning new purchases will go far enough. It is time to get semi-automatic weapons and high capacity ammunition out of this society all together (with the exception of police/military and other similarly qualified personnel).
