Political parties should be banned from the current system of government as it will ultimately lead to the downfall of this nation. Political parties is no longer about representation of views of the people, but a game of power struggle. Being an American should be enough, you shouldn't have to identify as Republican or Democrat. When the very people running our country seperate into sides "left and right", similar to a high school cafeteria, something must be done.
