Ban political parties in the USA. Candidates should run on their beliefs with an allegiance to country over any party...

Created by D.Y. on October 02, 2011

In his farewell address in 1796, George Washington warned against the establishment of political parties:

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."

In our government it almost always seems as if politicians and candidates would rather do what is in the best interest of their party rather then the good of the country as a whole. Democrats and Republicans refuse to work together for any benefit and instead constantly act in a partisan manner
