Ban the practice of Contract/Firm based Lobbying, by Constitutional Amendment if necessary, in the United States.

Created by J.K. on October 27, 2011

The Lobby industry in the United States of America, in addition to its induction of the festering urban tumor metastasizing on the streets of Washington D.C., adds nothing of institutional value whatsoever to this great nation. It is an institutional as well a machinistic cancer. It recruits largely from congress-people and staff recently thrown out of office due to their familiarity and connections in government, just as it seeks out and supplies candidates for political office in the first place. In many cases, they run entire campaigns in exchange for favors.

It has become the quintessential example of money = speech in a time where communication and information flow is at a technological maximum, ironically silencing the valid voices of millions.with its noisy moneyed spam.
