I think we need to outlaw the practice of businesses using online applications as a means of applying for work. What happened to the good ol days when you could actually speak with a real person. It seems that you apply online, and you only get a computer generated response to your application. I am not saying to eliminate computers completely, as the practice can be handy for people applying from out of state. Just that the people in the companies and businesses who are responsible for HR, should follow up with a phone call to let the applicant know that they have received it and will review it and follow up with the person. It seems that online applications just fall through the cracks after the computer generated response is sent. I think this would greatly help with people getting jobs.
